The Florilla concept

What is it all about ?
I have been writing a lot of poetry and all kind of short texts since I was 15 years old, and have been thinking about what I could do with these poems for the last 7 years... untill a few days ago.
Two weeks ago I saw the movie that has been made over Patch Adams life. I found it very inspiring so I went to see if I could find some more information about his life and activism in society, and found a lot of interesting things. Then I found videos on youtube of him clowning in the streets !
A few days later the idea of taping poems on walls and poles in the streets started to seduce me. So I went to buy the material I would be needing for it - large scotchtape, paper sheets and a nice felt-tip pen - and taped the first florilla poem.

And why "florilla"?!
Because today (27/01/2012) when I was just finishing taping my third florilla poem, a woman came to me and asked me if I had lost something. "No" I said, "it's a poem..." "So you are like a guerilla poet!? There is guerilla gardening, and this is like a guerilla poem." Her name was Doortje. We still talked for a few minutes about our activities and then took our way back home. I was very pleased with that encounter because it left me with the exciting feeling that I was on "my way", that I was starting something I had been waiting for a long time. Something for I have been preparing myself more or less consciously. And for this and the inspiration it brought me, I would like to thank her. Also because just after that, I thought I could put all my poems on a blog, and encourage the people all over the net to also tape wise, nice, and positive poems and texts in the streets and in their houses. To encourage them to print or to copy the poems on the blog, or to write their own poems, and to spread a word of love and thoughts of hope everywhere around them. All you needed was scotchtape, paper sheets, a pen and a little bit of time...
So there was born the idea of the guerilla poetry. Guerilla ?? No, it sounded too warlike... it sounded to much like a concept of oposition, and this concept is more a movement of position than oposition. It has the only ame of sharing the wise and beauty of poetry, in order to create a better atmosphere on this planet... the same as flowers do to our eyes and sense of smell, these poems would do to our mind and soul. Florilla poems. Florilla poems to help flowering our society.
As much as plants need light and water to live, society needs wise-art and science to flourish...
